What has happened to these boys?

Why don't they understand how important it is to work together in order to survive?
Some of you may say that it is a reflection of their age, but there must be something else.

  2. The boys are trying to rule over each other because they want to feel like they are incharge (anarchy). Jack starts to become animal-like because of the isolation of the island, he is violent, aggresive and because no adults are there to tell him what to do. Ralph seems like the more mature but the brains in the group is Piggy. Ralph lost hope in being rescued and felt like he had to put things in order and make rules because everything was going to become a chaos. They dont work together because they are different and some don't like eachother. Its important for them to work together because they will start to rebel against eachother, even though they are just boys, and it can come to the point in which they could start to kill eachother. Since they are boys, they don't exactly think like adults, and they have their own imagination and point of view of the island. They try to survive but the fact that there are no adults keeps them away from obeying the rules and following order within the society.

  3. Jack and his tribe have become savages and they are destroying anyone or anything that stands in their way, including Simon, Piggy, and the conch shell. They are now after Ralph. Jack has gained a lot of power and many fear him. Jack and his tribe have lost themselves and all they knew to be civilized on this island and death and evil has taken over.
